Global Delivery Lead - Manufacturing and Engineering at Manpower UK

Manpower Manufacturing & Engineering is excited to present a new opportunity with one of our prestigious Global Partners. We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer (mechanically biased) to join their team in Sutton in Ashfield. The role involves working 12-hour day shifts and 12-hour night shifts from 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, with no weekends.

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure production meets quality standards by completing quality checks and making necessary adjustments.
  • Identify and resolve problems promptly.
  • Manufacture according to the production plan to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain efficient operation of lines and equipment, reducing downtime and resolving performance issues. Communicate problems and solutions to Team Coordinators.
  • Minimize work order spoilage by identifying issues and informing Team Coordinators when unable to resolve them.
  • Perform maintenance activities as required.
  • Address breakdowns and undertake improvement projects.
  • Participate in training to enhance personal effectiveness and train others.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts on the production line and manage handovers.
Job Specific Skills:
  • Completed a time-served apprenticeship or hold a recognized engineering qualification.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in FMCG, preferably in packaging.
  • Proactive approach to adopting new methods and adaptable to change.
  • Competent in changeovers.
  • Strong problem analysis and corrective action skills.
  • Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Basic electrical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting.
