Job description

Manpower Manufacturing & Engineering

is excited to present a new opportunity for one of our prestigious Global Partners. We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer (mechanically biased) to join their team based in Sutton in Ashfield. The role involves working 12-hour shifts: days (6am-6pm) and nights (6pm-6am), with no weekends.

This is a 6-month Fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure production meets quality standards, completing all quality checks and making necessary adjustments.
  2. Identify and resolve problems promptly.
  3. Manufacture according to the production plan to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
  4. Maintain efficient line and equipment operation, reducing downtime, and resolving performance issues. Communicate issues and potential solutions to Team Coordinators.
  5. Minimize work order spoilage by identifying and resolving issues as they occur; escalate unresolved issues to Team Coordinators.
  6. Perform maintenance activities as required.
  7. Address breakdowns and undertake improvement projects.
  8. Participate in training activities to enhance personal effectiveness and train others.
  9. Lead problem-solving efforts within the production line and manage handovers.
Job Specific Skills:
  • Apprenticeship or recognized engineering qualification.
  • Ability to work from drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
  • 3-5 years' experience in FMCG, preferably in packaging.
  • Proactive and adaptable to change.
  • Competent in changeovers.
  • Ability to analyze problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Basic electrical knowledge is an advantage.
