Job summary

A well-established London law firm seeks a senior solicitor to lead and grow a private client team. This role offers clear progression to Head of Department, competitive salary, and additional benefits such as hybrid working and enhanced parental leave. The ideal candidate has 8+ PQE, experience managing a personal caseload, and strong business development skills. Qualifications

  • Experience managing your own caseload of wills, probate, LPAs, and trusts.
  • Previous exposure to Court of Protection work (desirable, not essential).

Responsibilities

  • Building a personal caseload through business development.
  • Advising on probate (approx. 60%) and wills / LPAs (approx. 40%).
  • Collaborating with others in the team and building out the department.
  • Driving revenue growth and progressing into Head of Department or Partner.

Who we’re looking for
  • 8+ PQE as a Solicitor or Legal Executive
  • Experience managing your own caseload of wills, probate, LPAs, and trusts
  • Strong track record in business development
  • Leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
  • Technically confident
  • Down-to-earth, approachable, and commercially minded
  • Previous exposure to Court of Protection work (desirable, not essential)
What you’ll be doing
  • Initially focusing on building a personal caseload through BD and internal cross-referrals
  • Advising on probate (approx. 60%) and wills / LPAs (approx. 40%)
  • Collaborating withothers in the team and building out the department
  • Driving revenue growth and ultimately progressing into Head of Department or Partner
  • Making use of firm-wide BD training and support to grow the client base
Salary & Benefits

  • Hybrid working : 2 days WFH per week once settled (office-based for first month)
