Job summary

NFU Mutual is seeking a Personal Lines Technical Underwriter to shape underwriting strategy across the Personal Lines product range, with a primary focus on Private Car. You will use technical underwriting expertise, market insight and data-led judgement to support sustainable, profitable growth and fair customer outcomes.

Hybrid working is on offer—spend up to 80% of your time at home, with 20% attendance at an office in Stratford-upon-Avon, York, Bristol, Belfast or Glasgow.

Qualifications

• Personal Lines underwriting experience, ideally including Private Car.
• Ability to analyze portfolio performance and market information to inform decisions.
• Experience producing clear reports and communicating underwriting guidance to varied audiences.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management to align appetite across teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop underwriting strategy for Personal Lines with a focus on Private Car.
• Interpret portfolio performance and MI data to identify opportunities and guide decisions.
• Translate underwriting appetite into practical guidance for Agents and Underwriters.
• Collaborate with Pricing, Sales, Agency, Claims and Product to support risk management.
