Job summary

NFU Mutual is seeking a Personal Lines Segment Underwriter on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is hybrid, with up to 80% from home and 20% in offices in Stratford-upon-Avon, York, Bristol, Belfast or Glasgow.

You will combine underwriting expertise with market and portfolio analysis to identify opportunities, develop practical options, and present evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong Personal Lines underwriting experience and insurance knowledge.
• Ability to analyse portfolio performance and market data.
• Experience shaping underwriting strategy and rules.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Collaborative cross-functional working across Underwriting, Pricing, Product and Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to grow Personal Lines across new and existing segments.
• Analyse market, portfolio data and customer insights and develop evidence-based recommendations.
• Produce clear options with customer, underwriting, financial and operational implications.
• Support the underwriting strategy and risk appetite discussions with senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to implement approved opportunities.
