Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal OHL Engineer to join the Transmission & Distribution Engineering team in London. You will lead technically challenging overhead line design projects, working with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions from concept to implementation.

You will manage design activities, perform PLS-CADD modelling, and contribute to feasibility studies and public consultations. This role requires Chartered status and a track record with TSO projects.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience delivering projects for transmission system operators such as National Grid, SSE and SPT.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage with clients to deliver technically challenging OHL design projects.
• Provide project technical support and be responsible for design of transmission projects up to 400kV.
• Perform PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis and loading trees.
• Support feasibility studies, conduct conductor thermal ratings, and ensure standards compliance.
• Originate and check engineering deliverables such as complex designs, reports and drawings.
