Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal OHL Engineer in London to lead high‑voltage transmission projects and guide the design of overhead lines up to 400 kV. You will work within a hybrid team, collaborating with clients and internal specialists to deliver safe, efficient infrastructure.

In this role you will perform PLS‑CADD modelling, geometry routing, and detailed structural analysis, while shaping proposals and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status with a recognised institution (e.g. IET).
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical or power engineering.
• Experience delivering transmission projects up to 400 kV.
• Proven ability to liaise with transmission operators and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead design activities for overhead transmission lines up to 400 kV, including routing and loadings.
• Provide technical support and ensure quality of engineering deliverables.
• Develop and review proposals, scope, timelines and budgets for projects.
• Support feasibility studies and client presentations; perform design checks and calculations.
