Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal OHL Engineer to lead transmission design projects up to 400kV from London. You will provide technical support, drive design activities, and engage with clients to deliver complex overhead line solutions.

The role requires a Chartered Engineer, strong communication skills, and experience with transmission projects. A hybrid work model and UK-based posting are offered.

Qualifications

• CEng Chartered Engineer with recognised electrical engineering discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage with clients to deliver technically challenging OHL design projects.
• Provide project technical support and oversee overhead line design up to 400kV.
• Perform PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis and sag–tension calculations.
• Review engineering deliverables and perform internal quality checks.
• Support feasibility studies, conductor thermal ratings, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare proposals with timelines, resources and budgets.
• Contribute to public consultations and project implementations.
