Job summary

Telent Technology Services Ltd in Warwick seeks a Principal Infrastructure Engineer for the Rail team. This hybrid role involves developing high and low level designs, aligning with GRIP/PACE governance, and guiding infrastructure delivery across datacentre and edge environments.

You will lead design changes during deployment and testing, train engineers, and ensure tasks meet project deadlines while collaborating with senior staff and customers in a safety‑first environment.

Qualifications

• Solid IT infrastructure experience with technical standards guidance.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects with governance.
• Familiar with ITIL and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce HLD and LLDs for Rail projects.
• Work to GRIP and PACE governance frameworks.
• Coordinate with Governance and Frameworks teams.
• Manage internal infrastructure training for engineers.
• Collaborate on design changes during implantation and testing.
• Use Kanban to manage tasks and updates.
• Plan changes with Change Management guidelines.
• Establish guidelines for installation, maintenance, and management.
• Provide timescales and effort estimates for tasks.
• Plan commissioning/decommissioning of systems at datacentre and edge.
