Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Geospatial Consultant to lead GeoAI-enabled GIS projects across infrastructure, land, water and environmental sectors. You will design production-grade Python workflows and integrate AI into GIS environments using Esri tools and open-source frameworks.

You will mentor colleagues, shape GeoAI methodologies, stay current with Esri releases, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver scalable, data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of GIS with Python development and automation.
• Strong Python skills: ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python, geopandas, shapely, rasterio, GDAL.
• Experience applying AI/ML to geospatial problems (object detection, classification, feature extraction).
• Knowledge of at least one deep learning framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and File/SDE geodatabases.
• Ability to communicate technical outputs to non-GIS audiences.
• Degree: BSc or MSc in GIS/Geography/CS or related.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop GeoAI solutions using Esri tools and open-source AI frameworks.
• Write production-grade Python toolboxes and spatial data pipelines for ArcGIS environments.
• Integrate PyTorch/TensorFlow into geospatial workflows for scalable insights.
• Lead technical delivery on GIS/GeoAI projects across utilities, land, water, and environments.
• Collaborate with project managers to scope, estimate, and assure deliverables.
• Provide technical assurance and peer review of GeoAI outputs.
