Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across projects in London and the South. You will own technical direction, manage client relationships and mentor the electrical team, ensuring delivery from concept to completion.

The role offers responsibility for technical leadership, project ownership, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a growing consultancy.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in electrical building services engineering.
• Strong consultancy experience and a proven track record of delivering projects.
• Experience taking technical ownership of projects.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior and intermediate engineers.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery.
• Strong AutoCAD skills; Revit/BIM experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
• Take overall technical responsibility for electrical engineering elements of projects.
• Manage and coordinate electrical design teams and work with other disciplines.
• Develop and review calculations, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to intermediate and junior engineers.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects and stakeholders.
• Attend design meetings, site visits and project reviews.
• Review designs to meet standards, regulations and client requirements.
• Support project planning, resourcing and delivery.
• Contribute to development of electrical engineering team and wider business.
• Identify opportunities to improve technical standards, processes and delivery.
