Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across projects from concept to delivery in London/Croydon. You will own technical direction, manage design teams and liaise with clients, contractors and architects.

You will mentor junior and intermediate engineers, review calculations and drawings, ensure compliance with UK standards, and help develop the electrical engineering team and overall business.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in electrical building services engineering.
• Strong consultancy experience with a proven track record of delivering projects.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical building services design and UK standards.
• Experience taking technical ownership of projects.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior and intermediate engineers.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery.
• Strong AutoCAD skills; Revit/BIM experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and delivery of projects from concept to completion.
• Take overall technical responsibility for electrical engineering elements.
• Manage and coordinate electrical design teams with other disciplines.
• Develop and review calculations, specifications, drawings, and documents.
• Mentor intermediate and junior engineers and provide guidance.
• Liaise directly with clients, contractors, architects and stakeholders.
• Attend design meetings, site visits and project reviews.
• Review designs to meet standards, regulations and client requirements.
