Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK seeks a Principal/Associate Director electrical engineer to lead our Electrical Engineering team within Power and Energy Solutions. The role combines client site work with home/office days in a hybrid model across Birmingham and other UK locations.

You will provide technical leadership for utility networks, manage interfaces with Grid operators and stakeholders, and guide major infrastructure and energy projects.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering major infrastructure, energy, transportation, or nuclear projects.
• Experience with transmission and distribution networks.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading the planning, coordination, and integration of utility infrastructure including HV, MV, and LV networks.
• Managing interfaces with National Grid, DNOs, ICPs, utility providers, regulators, and key stakeholders.
• Providing technical leadership for utility diversions, new connections, capacity assessments, and network reinforcement works.
• Developing electrical infrastructure strategies and long-term power supply solutions for major projects.
• Managing risks associated with utility interfaces, outages, network constraints, and programme delivery.
