Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited seeks a Civil/Structural Principal Engineer to lead design and manage delivery across HV substation projects up to 400kV. Based in the UK with options across Birmingham, Leeds or Glasgow, you will provide technical leadership on FEED and detail design, delivering high-quality solutions and ensuring grid compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers, liaise with clients and stakeholders at all levels, and travel to sites as required to meet time and budget targets while

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading teams to deliver complex FEED and detailed design for EHV substations.
• Strong knowledge of UK and international codes/standards and safety/environmental compliance.
• Chartered Engineer status and ICE/IStructE membership desirable.
• Ability to travel to client sites and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on FEED and Detailed Design workstreams for transmission or distribution networks.
• Lead engineering design and management to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions.
• Coach and develop junior engineers and liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ensure compliance with Grid standards and regulatory requirements.
