A local government authority in Wigan is seeking Principal Asset Managers for both Development and Operational roles. The selected candidates will lead efforts in a new Strategic Asset Management Team, focused on enhancing the community through innovative property management strategies. Ideal applicants will have a background as Development or Estates Surveyors and a passion for public value. We’re forming a new Strategic Asset Management Team to manage our Corporate Property a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary group that will play a key role in shaping the places where our residents live, work, and thrive.
You will lead a vital workstream, delivering long-term impact and helping drive the council’s vision for Progress with Unity. Together, we’ll ensure that our assets work harder for our people, our environment, and our future.

We’re looking for innovative, dynamic individuals who are ready to bring fresh ideas, strategic insight, and a passion for public value to how we manage and develop our land and property portfolio. We want people who see opportunity where others see complexity. People that can think creatively, collaborate effectively, and deliver meaningful outcomes for local people.
You’ll likely be an experienced Development or Estates Surveyor ready for a new challenge and we want people who can make a tangible difference to be part of a team that’s shaping the future of Wigan Borough with vision, purpose, and unity.
