Job summary

St Mary's C of E Primary School in Swindon invites applications for two Teaching Assistant posts. The roles involve supporting pupils' learning, wellbeing and development, both in the classroom and small-group settings, under the guidance of teaching and senior staff.

We are looking for compassionate, committed individuals with experience caring for children, safeguarding knowledge, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning.
• Strong communication skills, including confidence and fluency in spoken English.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to relate well to both children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND.
• Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources.
• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence.
• Supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompany pupils on trips when required.
