Job summary

Swindon Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learning in the secondary phase. You will work with the class teacher to deliver lessons, provide small group interventions, and help raise student attainment in line with the national curriculum.

The role requires GCSEs in English and Maths (C or above), strong literacy/numeracy skills, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C or above.
• Very good grasp of literacy and numeracy skills.
• Some previous experience of working with young people is desirable.
• Some understanding of how students learn or teaching experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities as needed.
• Deliver intervention programmes to raise attainment for individuals or groups.
• Provide differentiated support and maintain positive relationships with students.
• Monitor and record pupil responses and progress under teacher guidance.
