Job summary

GUARDIAN SELECTION LIMITED is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant for a local primary school in the M22 area, starting this September. The role involves supporting the class teacher, delivering learning activities, and helping pupils build confidence in literacy, numeracy, and social development.

You will work across the classroom, 1:1 or in small groups, to boost pupil progress and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting is preferred.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills to guide pupils effectively.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply and pay for one prior to starting).
• Strong reliability and organizational skills with a genuine commitment to the school community.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with setting up learning materials and managing classroom activities.
• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to boost literacy, numeracy, and reading comprehension.
• Help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and positive behaviour in the classroom and playground.
• Assist in monitoring student progress and sharing feedback with the class teacher.
