Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an Experienced Teaching Assistant to work across primary schools in Godalming and the surrounding area. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support for pupils, in mainstream or SEN settings, with flexible full-time or part-time hours.

We offer a competitive daily rate (£93-£100), ongoing training and a dedicated consultant to support you throughout assignments. Start date is September 2026.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with children and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy and a positive approach in teaching environments.
• Previous experience with children or in education is desirable.
• Commitment to learning and developing new skills (training provided).
• Ability to work 1:1 or with small groups in primary settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a student or small group within a resource base.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
• Support students in completing work and encourage independent learning.
• Monitor student progress and report concerns to the class teacher.
