Job summary

Randstad Education seeks a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant in Watford for a long-term position starting September 2026. You will support pupils across Early Years to Key Stage 2, helping with reading, literacy, and maths, and work closely with teachers to maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in primary schools, nurseries, or community youth settings.
• Good verbal communication, flexibility, patience, and solid grasp of primary reading, writing and maths.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with class teachers to prepare learning materials and activities.
• Support small group interventions in early reading, literacy, and maths.
• Provide 1:1 pupil mentoring for students needing extra help, including SEND.
• Apply positive behaviour strategies to keep pupils engaged and focused.
• Assist with display boards and practical resources for daily lessons.
• Support safeguarding and welfare across classroom, assemblies, and breaks.
