Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Gateshead is seeking enthusiastic General Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary schools in the area. This role offers variety across 1:1 support, small intervention groups and class-wide assistance to help children learn and progress.

We welcome patient, nurturing individuals who can build positive relationships with pupils and staff, and who understand safeguarding requirements. Training and DBS checks are provided as part of our safeguarding commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people
• Patient, nurturing and encouraging approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Desirable DBS check and safeguarding understanding

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
• Support small intervention groups to help pupils progress
• Assist the class teacher across a full class
• Support pupils with SEND and their learning needs
• Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
