Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency is seeking a qualified Primary Teacher for a Pupil Referral Unit in Harrow Weald, Northwest London. This role requires experience in special educational needs or social, emotional and mental health settings. Qualifications

  • Qualified Primary Teacher with experience in SEN or SEMH settings.
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching students with SEN or SEMH.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM Friday
Location: Harrow Weald Northwest London
Pay: According to your teaching scale

About the School

This Pupil Referral Unit PRU provides education for students aged 5 to 16 years who are unable to attend mainstream school. The centre supports a small cohort of approximately 35 to 36 pupils. Rated Good in all areas by Ofsted, the school offers a tailored, nurturing environment to meet the diverse needs of its learners.

What We Are Looking For
  • A qualified Primary Teacher with experience working in SEN or SEMH settings
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence in planning and delivering differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum
  • A creative, hands on approach to engaging and inspiring learners
  • An understanding of trauma informed practice and supporting disengaged students
Essential Requirements
  • QTS or QTLS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching students with SEN or SEMH
  • A valid Enhanced DBS Child and Adult Workforce registered on the Update Service
  • Two recent professional references ideally from an education setting
