Job summary

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a small independent SEND school in Hereford that is seeking to appoint a dedicated Primary Teacher. The successful teacher will work with small classes of around six pupils, supporting children whose primary need is anxiety, delivering engaging lessons and creating a calm, structured learning environment that promotes both academic and emotional development.

QTS (ECTs encouraged) and UK primary experience are required, with a nurturing, patient approach

Qualifications

• QTS (ECTs are also encouraged to apply)
• Experience teaching within a Primary setting in the UK
• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly anxiety-related needs
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A nurturing and patient approach to teaching and learning
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Teach and manage a small class of approximately six pupils.
• Deliver engaging lessons and maintain a calm, structured learning environment.
• Support pupils with anxiety and emotional needs while promoting academic progress.

Location: Hereford

Start Date: October/November 2026

Salary: £160 - £200 per day

The school is looking to appoint a Primary Teacher on a long-term temporary basis from September. The successful Primary Teacher will work with small classes of approximately six pupils, supporting children whose primary need is anxiety, delivering engaging lessons and creating a calm, structured learning environment that promotes both academic and emotional development.

The successful Primary Teacher will have:

• QTS (ECTs are also encouraged to apply)
• Experience teaching within a Primary setting in the UK
• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly anxiety-related needs
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A nurturing and patient approach to teaching and learning
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
