Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a small independent SEND school in Hereford to recruit a Primary Teacher for a long-term temporary position, starting October/November 2026. You will teach small classes of around six pupils, focusing on both academic learning and emotional development for pupils with anxiety.

The role requires QTS (ECTs encouraged) and prior UK primary teaching experience, with a nurturing, patient approach and excellent behaviour management. Salary is paid daily under PAYE.

Qualifications

• QTS status or ECTs considered for the role.
• Experience teaching in UK primary settings.
• Experience supporting SEND, especially anxiety-related needs.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Nurturing and patient approach to teaching and learning.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons in a small-class SEND environment.
• Create a calm, structured learning space promoting academic and emotional development.
• Support pupils with anxiety and emotional needs.
• Collaborate with school teams to ensure consistent support.
