Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Diss. The role involves assisting the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will help manage patient flow, perform observations, phlebotomy (if trained), ECGs and contribute to high-quality care delivery, with DBS clearance and strong communication with patients. Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions and morning/afternoon availability offered.

Qualifications

• Experience performing clinical observations (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2).
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Ability to perform ECGs and assist with routine patient assessments.
• Basic IT skills for recording in the clinical system.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
