Job summary

Astreya Consultancy India is seeking a Hardware Support Technician I to handle procurement, inventory and asset management for pre-market consumer electronics globally. You will assist with distribution and shipping preparation, ensuring correct imaging and hardware IDs.

This role requires IT savvy, strong communication in English, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment; travel for events may be required.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED; 0–2 years related experience or training.
• IT savvy and interested in new technologies.
• Knowledgeable about inventory and IT inventory environment.
• Capable of following technical instructions to flash drives, image devices and rewrite hardware IDs.
• Excellent communicator in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to plan steps to achieve objectives.
• Preferred: Data experience; Excel experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory and asset management including receipt and disposition of hardware.
• Document defects of pre-mass production hardware and/or software.
• Help perform hardware reworks (e.g., swapping boards/chips, removing write-protect screws).
• Help perform software reworks (imaging devices to different builds; wipe data; rewrite system HW IDs).
• Assist with servo flashing, firmware upgrade, flashing unsigned images.
• Help resolve support tickets on device issues.
• Assist with technical support during events (travel often required).
• Other duties as required.
