Job summary

Reed is recruiting an experienced Practice Manager in Coventry to lead a substantial client portfolio and influence staff development. You will work closely with Directors to ensure high-quality service and strong commercial control.

The role requires ACA/ACCA (or qualified-by-experience) with solid experience in accounts review, tax work, and billing. You will mentor junior colleagues and drive client satisfaction across a varied client base.

Qualifications

• Experience in practice management or senior management within an accountancy firm.
• ACA/ACCA qualification or qualified-by-experience considered.
• Strong review of accounts and knowledge of corporate/personal tax.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and supervising staff.
• Excellent client communication and billing discipline.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of clients across sectors.
• Reviewing statutory accounts before Director sign-off.
• Reviewing corporate and personal tax returns.
• Reviewing VAT returns and management accounts.
• Acting as primary relationship manager for clients.
• Conducting client meetings and advising on accounting and tax.
• Managing workflow, WIP, recoverability and fee notes.
• Supporting and developing team members via 1-2-1s and performance.
• Presenting final accounts and tax work for approval with Directors.
• Ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
