Contribute to relevant study days at partnership Higher Education Institute (HEIs)
Contribute to teaching in clinical practice; both pre-registration and post-registration.
Contribute to the continuing professional development for nurses across all fields of practice (mental health/learning disabilities/adult and child), registered nursing associates, and other allied health care professionals.
Support the provision of simulation as a teaching experience for qualified nurses and pre-registration learners.
Be an assessor in practice as required.
Support learners in practice in order to enhance their learning experience.
The post holder will be required to cover West Sussex, East Sussex, North West Sussex and Brighton and Hove. On occasions there may be a requirement to travel further afield; for example, to Surrey as part of the responsibilities of the job.

Facilitate the provision of sufficient high-quality clinical placements for learners.
Support managers, assessors and supervisors in practice and act as a link between Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals Sussex, NHS Foundation Trust and Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and Higher Education Institutes (HEI) in relation to learners on NMC approved programmes.

Contribute to study days at the universities providing the training and in clinical practice.
The successful candidate will work within the Department of Nursing Research, Education and Development to manage pre-registration nursing, paramedic student, trainee nursing associate and registered nurse degree apprenticeship placements. Clinical placements are a vital part of the learning experience for students and trainees and providing high quality placements not only contributes to the development of individuals but also to the Trusts learning and teaching culture. The role will be challenging and rewarding in order to develop and deliver high quality education and training in practice.
Support managers, assessors and supervisors and link with HEIs (Higher Education Institute) whose trainees are placed with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Attend course boards and meetings with HEI partners. Provide strong, skilled professional leadership and support to all members of the workforce involved with placements.
Develop communication networks and close working relationships with managers, practice assessors and supervisors and practice placement areas and HEIs.
Play a leading role as appropriate, to curriculum development ensuring that the principles of work-based learning, clinical need and up to date practice is included.
Support the recruitment of internal and external candidates who want to apply for the nursing associate apprenticeship and nursing degree apprenticeships.
Support NMC quality assurance monitoring and HEI external examiner and Ofsted visits to the Trust.
Teach on the relevant study days as part of the portfolio of courses delivered by NRED.
Compile the relevant collated data and reports needed to evaluate projects.
