Job summary

Turner Lovell is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial performance on major power and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will manage tenders, valuations, cost reports and subcontractor engagements while ensuring effective cash flow and risk mitigation.

The role requires a strong NEC3/NEC4 background, high-value project exposure, and the ability to mentor junior staff within a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on high-budget infrastructure projects.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts within infrastructure or civil engineering environments.
• Experience producing detailed financial forecasts, cost reports and managing project cash flow.
• A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
• Chartered or Incorporated status, or actively working towards professional qualification.

Responsibilities

• Leading tendering and bid submissions, including pricing, commercial assessments and review of contractual terms and conditions.
• Managing monthly valuations, applications for payment, variations, cost reports and CVRs across multiple high-value contracts.
• Managing subcontractor relationships, including procurement, negotiation of rates, assessment of applications and agreement of variations.
• Identifying commercial risks at an early stage and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Working closely with project managers and delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives remain aligned with project requirements.
• Providing accurate financial forecasting and effective cash-flow management.
• Supporting the development of junior Quantity Surveyors and contributing to a positive, high-performing commercial team.
