Job summary

The Doctoral College at City St George’s, University of London seeks a highly capable finance professional to lead the development of transparent and effective financial processes for postgraduate research. You will drive operational excellence, provide expert guidance on PGR finance and ensure robust reporting across Schools and Research Centres.

With substantial HE finance administration experience, you will influence strategic decisions, manage stakeholders, and deliver high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Substantial experience of higher education finance administration and a proven track record of leading service and process improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within demanding timescales.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, analyze and continually improve financial record management and reporting for postgraduate research activity across Schools and Research Centres.
• Act as the Doctoral College's subject matter expert in postgraduate research finance and provide guidance to colleagues.
• Promote best practice and drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and institutional requirements.
• Administer and manage studentships, ensuring effective delivery of payment processes, accurate record-keeping and robust financial reporting.
• Contribute to shaping the strategic direction and priorities of the Doctoral College and enhance the postgraduate research experience.
