Royal Mail is hiring a Postie in Swadlincote to join our delivery team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. The role is 30 hours per week across 5 days, with weekend work, and pays £13.68 per hour plus paid overtime.

You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, and you’ll build relationships with customers in your local area. You'll need a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and be prepared for outdoor work in all weather.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 30:00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday -8:00/16:00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work Sundays at Burton On Trent Delivery Office.

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
