Job summary

Royal Mail Group is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Lutterworth for a fixed-term 9‑month contract. The role involves delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot, with a 37-hour week on a rotating schedule that includes weekends.

You will be active outdoors, cover routes in all weather, and maintain high standards of customer service. Training is provided, and overtime is paid.

Qualifications

Job type: Fixed Termcontract (9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday -8am/5:30pm*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
