Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Lampeter is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed term contract for 6 months. You will deliver letters and parcels in Lampeter, working 37 hours per week on a rotating schedule, including some weekends. Full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van are provided.

The role involves outdoor work, walking long distances, and driving a Royal Mail van daily. You will be assessed for driving ability and must hold a full UK driving licence with up to 6 points.

Location: Lampeter Delivery Office, SA48 7DZ

Job type: Fixed Term contract (6 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00 hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Saturday - 07:30 - 16:00 OR08:00 - 16:40 - Varied shift patterns will be advised by the Hiring Manager

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
