Royal Mail Group in Coalville is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract to deliver letters and parcels in the local area. You will work a rotating shift pattern, with early starts (06:00) and weekend work.

Full training provided, a uniform, and a Royal Mail van; you must hold a full UK driving licence with up to 6 points and be physically fit to walk long distances and carry 10 kg+ mailbags. Overtime and pension benefits apply.

Job type: Fixed Termcontract(10 months)

Salary:£13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 06:00hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday -08:00 or 14:00/14:00 - 20:00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work Sundays at CoalvilleDelivery Office.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
