Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Lutterworth to deliver letters and parcels on a rotating shift, including Sundays. You will drive a Royal Mail van and walk the local routes, building relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weather.

The role is 37 hours per week, with a fixed-term contract (9 months) and a starting pay of £13.68 per hour, plus overtime. Training provided and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) and willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and well organized.

Location: Lutterworth Delivery Office, LE17 4JA
Job type: Fixed Term contract (9 months)
Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 8am/5:30pm*

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
