Job summary

Royal Mail in Antrim is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join a team delivering letters and parcels across Antrim. You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, 30 hours per week over six days, with early starts and a physically active role, in all weather.

You’ll be trained, receive a uniform and a red van, and be part of a trusted community service delivering to local customers. The role requires a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points), the ability to walk long

Location: Antrim Delivery Office, BT41 2RU
Job type: Permanent contract
Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 6 across Monday - Saturday – 07:45/15:30*

What To Expect
This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You
We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
