Royal Mail Group in Strabane is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels on a rotating shift. You will be outdoors, walking and driving a Royal Mail van, and you’ll join a team dedicated to reliable service.

The role includes training provided, a uniform, and the chance to build relationships with customers while staying active. You’ll work 35 hours per week across five days in six, with some weekend work and potential overtime.

Job type: Permanentcontract(9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 35:00hours per week - working 5days in 6 across Monday - Saturday - 09:10/16:10*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
