Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Officer for a secondary school in Liverpool. The role focuses on maintaining high behaviour standards, supporting pupils with challenges, and promoting positive conduct throughout lessons and transitions.

The successful candidate will work within a collaborative pastoral team, liaising with staff, families and senior leaders to deliver consistent support and early intervention strategies that enhance pupil engagement and well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in a secondary setting or similar.
• Confident in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
• Understanding safeguarding, pastoral support and strategies for helping pupils regulate behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pupil behaviour and support students following incidents.
• Implement agreed behaviour strategies and maintain records of interventions.
• Collaborate with heads of year and teaching staff to identify recurring concerns and develop approaches to improve outcomes.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, attendance, motivation or peer relationships.
• Communicate with parents/carers and contribute to pastoral meetings.
