Job summary

Furze Platt Senior School is seeking a Behaviour Support Officer to join the Pastoral Team from January 2027, or earlier if possible. You will help promote positive behaviour and support student engagement in a safe learning environment.

You will manage the isolation room, assist with after-school detentions, and work with staff to address behavioural issues across the school. The role requires calm, patient communication and a commitment to student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Commitment to supporting students' academic and personal development.

Responsibilities

• Manage the isolation room and help students reflect and re-engage with learning.
• Support daily after-school detentions with structured supervision.
• Respond to behavioural incidents across the school as part of the SLT call-out system.
• Conduct investigations into behavioural issues and report to SLT.
• Rotate between isolation room, call-out support, and behaviour interventions.
