Job summary

Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) is seeking an exceptional Head of Policy and Technical Expertise to lead policy translation and guidance development, ensuring customer-facing services are grounded in robust policy and trusted technical insight.

Reporting to the Corporate Director of Service Experience, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, anticipate risks, influence government and regulators, and deliver outcomes that improve financial wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience leading policy or regulatory teams, translating legislation into strategic guidance.
• Strong influencing skills with government, regulators and industry bodies.
• Proven capability to build capability and foster high-performing, inclusive cultures.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex legislation and market developments into strategic recommendations and service requirements.
• Lead a focused team of specialists to design trusted policy guidance for customer-facing services.
• Ensure policy expertise is embedded across service delivery and remains compliant with evolving regulation.
• Influence government and regulatory bodies and advise senior leaders on policy direction.
