Who will you be working with?

We are seeking an experienced PMO Lead to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Burton on Trent we support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.

Location: Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, (DE13 8EN) – (Onsite)

Travel: You will be required to spend one day each week at our sites in Birkenhead, Doncaster, and Burton. Additionally, you will have the flexibility to work remotely for two days each week.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm, 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

How will you make a difference?

As the PMO Lead, you will support the UK Head of Projects and will play a pivotal role in transforming our project management landscape. By leveraging your expertise in functional interfaces, you will ensure seamless communication and collaboration across all our sites in Burton Upon Trent, Doncaster, and Birkenhead. Your meticulous approach to project execution will drive timely and successful delivery of initiatives, while your focus on performance and governance will uphold the highest standards of quality and accountability.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Escalation point providing support for the UK Group Project Portfolio on critical functional topics.
  • Development and implementation of Tools, Processes, and Procedures within the UK at the Product Line level to enable projects to be delivered in a repeatable standard way and in line with overarching governance.
  • Coordinate the consolidation of Project Gate Reviews within the UK Group at the Product Line level in line with Customer Milestones and Wabtec Gate review process.
  • Contributes to the Product Line Bid Preparation and Approval Process / Hand-Over Process
  • Coordinates the UK Group Portfolio performance through the monthly A, B, and C Class project review process and highlights escalation requirements on critical topics.
  • Responsible for the Consolidated UK Group Project Governance, Meetings, and Reviews.
  • Responsible for interfacing with the UK Group Governance and reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for the UK Group Talent (Training and Development) Management process.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with customers, attend industry events and visit offices.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or Business/Management/Finance.
  • PRINCE2 or APM qualified.
  • IT skills (particularly Excel)
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
