Reed in Lambeth, London is seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to support learners with SEND in a college setting. You will provide person-centred learning support and assist with accessibility, personal care, and mobility as required to help learners access education and college services.

Qualifications

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with learners, teachers, parents/carers, and other agencies involved with the students.
• Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment.
• Understanding of safeguarding, discrimination issues, and the difficulties faced by those with learning difficulties.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Exceptional organisational skills combined with good IT knowledge and sound administration skills.
• Experience of working with SEND learners in a secondary or further education environment is desirable.
• Child & Adult DBS required.

Responsibilities

• Annual Salary: 15.55- £17.75p/h(umbrella)

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team Lambeth. This role is crucial in providing essential learning and accessibility support to young people and adults with SEND. The ideal candidate will have experience in areas such as Team Teach, challenging behaviour, PEG feeding, manual handling, hoisting, and personal care.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Provide person-centred learning support to learners with severe and complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Facilitate learners' access to and achievement of learning programmes, supporting their access to all college services and activities.
• Support the personal development of learning/study skills and educational outcomes, including those relevant to individual Educational Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Work with individuals or small groups to encourage engagement with activities or to work independently.
• Assist learners with personal care, medical needs, and mobility as necessary, taking instructions from learners regarding their support needs.
