Reed is seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team in Lambeth, London, providing learning and accessibility support to learners with SEND and helping them access educational programs and college services.

Qualifications

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with learners, teachers, parents/carers, and other agencies.
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, discrimination issues, and the difficulties faced by those with learning difficulties.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with good IT knowledge and sound administration skills.
  • Experience of working with SEND learners in a secondary or further education environment is desirable.

  • Provide person-centred learning support to learners with severe and complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
  • Facilitate learners' access to and achievement of learning programmes, supporting their access to all college services and activities.
  • Support the personal development of learning/study skills and educational outcomes, including EHCPs.
  • Work with individuals or small groups to encourage engagement with activities or to work independently.
  • Assist learners with personal care, medical needs, and mobility as necessary, taking instructions from learners regarding their support needs.

We are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team in Lambeth. This role is essential for providing learning and accessibility support to young people and adults with SEND, facilitating their access to educational programs and services. The ideal candidate will be committed to making a significant impact on our learners' educational and personal development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide person-centred learning support to learners with severe and complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
  • Facilitate learners' access to and achievement of learning programmes, supporting their access to all college services and activities.
  • Support the personal development of learning/study skills and educational outcomes, including those relevant to individual Educational Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Work with individuals or small groups to encourage engagement with activities or to work independently.
  • Assist learners with personal care, medical needs, and mobility as necessary, taking instructions from learners regarding their support needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Experience of working with SEND learners in a secondary or further education environment is desirable.
  • Child & Adult DBS required.
