Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Loudwater. You will provide targeted support to pupils, work with teachers to deliver inclusive lessons and promote learning progress in a caring environment.

Key responsibilities include small-group support, adapting activities, safeguarding, and collaboration with SENCOs and parents. A current enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in educational, care, or support settings is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are essential.

About the Role

Are you a caring, supportive, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic LSA to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small-group support to pupils, helping them to access the curriculum and make progress.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Assist pupils with their learning by explaining tasks, reinforcing key concepts, and encouraging independent learning.
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual pupils' learning needs and abilities.
  • Provide support with literacy, numeracy, and other areas of the curriculum as required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, providing encouragement and emotional support where needed.
  • Monitor and report on pupils' progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, sharing relevant information with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Support pupils during classroom activities, break times, lunchtimes, trips, and other school activities where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and other support staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
  • Follow individual support plans, EHCP targets, and school policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting is desirable.

  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
