Job summary

Reed is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in South East London to provide person-centred support to learners with SEND. This part-time role (3 days per week) focuses on helping students access educational programmes and college services with sensitivity and dignity.

You will work with individuals or small groups, supporting learning skills and EHCP-aligned outcomes, while building trusted relationships with staff, learners, and families.

Qualifications

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Proven ability to build positive, trust-based relationships with learners, staff, parents/carers, and professionals.
  • Experience working in a multicultural community and a clear understanding of safeguarding, discrimination, and the barriers faced by learners with additional needs.
  • Confidence in supporting learners with personal care and mobility needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in various situations.
  • Good organisational skills, reliable IT abilities, and sound administrative practice.
  • Experience of working with SEN learners in a secondary or FE setting is desirable, but we welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills.

Learning Support Assistant

  • Job Type: Part-time (3 days per week)
  • Location: South East London
  • Salary: £15.55 - £17.75 per hour (umbrella)

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team, providing high-quality support to young people and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is instrumental in enabling learners to access and achieve within their educational programmes and engage fully with college services and activities.

Day-to-day of the role:
