A leading NHS teaching trust in the United Kingdom is looking for a pleural nurse specialist to provide specialized nursing care for patients with pleural conditions. The role involves working closely with the pleural team, assisting with various procedures, and ensuring effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals. We have an exciting opportunity for a -month secondment, as a pleural nurse specialist in the Respiratory Intervention team, based in main theatres at the John Radcliffe.
The successful candidate will work with the pleural team and will be required to provide a specialist nursing service for patients with pleural conditions. They will contribute to the care of patients requiring pleural procedures including chest drains, thoracoscopy and pleural aspirations. They will work closely with the pleural consultant, fellows and current pleural nurse to provide an effective and responsive service to patients. They will provide education, advice and support to patients and their relatives / carers, both in the hospital setting and, in the community.
