Overview

We are now seeking to recruit a Plant Technician to work in a new workshop in Featherstone to support the current fleet of plant technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Workshop Controllers to maintain the standards of road worthiness and mechanical safety for the fleet of cars, minibuses, lorries and vans.
  • Using specialised recovery equipment: vehicle-mounted crane and tail lift operations and repairs.
  • Carry out statutory inspection, maintenance and repair to vehicles, plant and equipment.
  • Carry out roadworthiness and safety checks and maintenance of hired vehicles.
  • Ensure all electronic records, paperwork, forms, inspection sheets, defect notes and photographic evidence are completed accurately and recorded as required.
  • Diagnose faults mechanically and decide on the most economical method of repair while ensuring appropriate quality and legal standards.
Qualifications
  • NVQ 3 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components.
  • BTEC Technicians or NVQ level 3 in an appropriate study.
  • Licence for abrasive wheel (grinding) and overhead crane.
  • Previous plant service and repair experience.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including effective use of vehicle & plant diagnostic equipment and vehicle-based technology.
