Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a hands-on Plant Supervisor to lead concrete plant operations, drive safety, quality and operational excellence, and deliver outstanding customer service. Reporting into the Area Operations team, you will supervise batching, coordinate with drivers and the Order Office, and uphold high site standards.

The role requires previous supervisory experience, a strong HSE background, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in concrete, aggregates, or construction materials operations.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental standards.
• Good problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day batching plant operations, ensuring safe and efficient production.
• Collaborate with Order Office, drivers, customers and teams to meet requirements.
• Ensure high-quality concrete and mortar in line with standards.
• Maintain stock of approved raw materials and monitor usage.
• Conduct inspections and regular maintenance, reporting defects.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of site, plant and facilities.
• Monitor incoming materials and perform regular stock checks.
• Lead by example to enforce health, safety, and environmental rules.
• Support continuous improvement projects to boost plant performance.
