Job summary

Brett Aggregates at Cliffe Terminal is seeking a reliable Operative to join the busy team. You will support safe, efficient handling and processing of aggregate materials, maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and customer service.

You will safely operate mobile and static plant, load lorries, trains and barges, and carry out routine inspections. A strong mechanical understanding and proactive approach are essential to thrive in our fast-paced site.

Qualifications

• Experience operating mobile and/or fixed plant in a production or processing environment (NVQ or working towards desirable).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound mechanical understanding of plant and equipment.
• Self-motivated, flexible and proactive, with strong problem-solving ability.
• Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate mobile and static plant in line with site procedures
• Load lorries, trains and barges efficiently and professionally
• Carry out routine inspections of plant and equipment
• Undertake basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks
• Maintain high standards of site cleanliness, including managing spillages, haul roads and bunds
• Promptly report accidents, incidents, near misses, or changes in material quality
• Work collaboratively as part of a team, providing support where required
