Planner / Scheduler

Location: Motherwell
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Long-term temporary, with potential to go permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Planner / Scheduler to join a well-established and high-performing social housing maintenance contractor based in Motherwell.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy team supporting the delivery of essential repairs and maintenance services across social housing properties. The role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organised, and enjoys keeping operations running smoothly.

The Role

As a Planner / Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating engineers and operatives, ensuring repairs and maintenance jobs are scheduled efficiently and completed within the required timescales.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Scheduling and coordinating daily workloads for engineers and operatives

• Managing appointments and ensuring jobs are allocated efficiently

• Liaising with tenants, operatives, supervisors and other internal teams

• Monitoring outstanding and completed works

• Rescheduling appointments where required

• Updating systems with accurate job and appointment information

• Prioritising urgent and reactive repairs

• Ensuring works are delivered within agreed timescales and service standards

• Dealing with queries and resolving scheduling issues promptly

About You

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a planning, scheduling, coordination or administration role, ideally within social housing, repairs, maintenance, construction or a similar environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Planner / Scheduler role

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• The ability to work under pressure in a busy environment

• Good IT and systems experience

• Excellent attention to detail

• The ability to prioritise and manage competing workloads

• A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Experience within social housing maintenance or repairs would be highly advantageous, but is not essential for the right candidate.
